How does the Swedish labour market work and what to think about before entering it? This webinar will give you an overall introduction to the Swedish labour market. You will also get inspiration on how to improve your Swedish.
Most importantly, we’ll address the big question: Is it possible to find a job in Sweden as an international? The short answer is yes – but knowing how the system works can make all the difference.

In this webinar you will meet:

  • Representatives from The Swedish Public Employment Service. They will provide a brief overview of the Swedish labour market, the Swedish unemployment insurance system and Swedish work-life culture.
  • Study counsellor Maria Sahlström has a special focus on international students and will talk about ways to learn Swedish and what to focus on during your studies in order to become more employable.

Two Linnaeus University alumni will also share their experiences of finding their way on the Swedish labour market. What challenges did they face, and what are their best tips for current international students?

  • Nickson Nzioki, originally from Kenya, studied the masters in Business Process Control and Supply Chain Management. He is now working at Microsoft as a Data Center Inventory & Assets Technician.
  • Sanduni Ruwanthika Silva from Sri Lanka, also studied the masters in Business Process Control and Supply Chain Management. She is currently working at IKEA as a need planner.

Sofie Edström and Fanny Elheim, Career Counsellors, will be moderating the webinar.
